Dubbed isn't necessarily bad. Personally, if subbed exists, then I'll watch the subbed version. However, I would always get into arguments and discussions with some friends about the whole dub v. sub battle, and honestly, dubs can and have worked in the past. The problem with most dubs is two things: poor voice casting (partially due to the demographics that animes seek here in the US, when the rights are bought), and far too much editing or censoring. |

I've also enjoyed Trigun ALOT! I just recently got into Deathnote like yesterday.
Anime is seeming to get worse now. IT ALWAYS just fighting demons! WTF! MAN! I'm losing some interest in anime. All in all, I like anime, I think it's ok but I aint crazy about it. |
That's mainly only the shonen anime - anime geared towards young males, the most popular of which are found in weekly shonen jump - but a large amount of anime is more drama based with little to no action at all. Even within the shonen series (one piece, naruto, bleach, etc.), they're not *all* necessarily based on demons. While the plots aren't necessarily the most original creations ever, most series at least try to be a little different.
Just like with other forms of media, there are countless genres within what you would call anime, so it's not really fair to generalize based on one subsection of anime. _________________

My PC is giving me problems right now, so I don't have access to most of my collection to actually count the number of series that I have, but in terms of size, I have around 400-500 GB that I've acquired over the past 5-6 years. _________________

If I count all my optical media, I wonder if I exceeded that amount. Oh god... |

oh yeah, i completely agree with you, but these animes such as Bleach and Death Note sound way better subbed, and the translations aren't always the same. For instance in Bleach (subbed) they are called Death Gods and in dubbed, Soul Reapers.
I agree with you, ones i liked a lot are Trigun, Bebop, heck even DBZ. Those are some good animes in dubbed. And lol, my favorite is in dubbed, so its quite interesting.
@des: that is true too. with shows like naruto and bleach, they are kind of taking the places of shows like inuyasha. _________________

I used to watch anime all the time when I was younger. Ive seen a ton of the "classics" like Trigun, Gundam, Berserk, Outlaw Star, Evangelion, and of course Cowboy Bebop, which is still one of my favorite T.V. shows ever.
The last anime series I watched all the way through was Gantz and I loved it. It had some of the most fucked things id seen in an anime but it still kicked total ass. I liked so much I even started to read the manga it was based on but never got around to finishing it. |

I used to watch Dragonball Z as a kid, I loved the Frieza episodes on that planet with... Picollo? I remember it was an instrument. |

I watch lots of Anime. Inuyasha, Bleach, Cowboy Bebop, Dragonball Z, and much more. I don't care for Naruto though, but I heard the Japanese version is way better. And I heard Death Note is really good, so I might watch it tomorrow night. _________________
